Storing Your Bed
Linens
The comfort of slipping into a bed with fresh, clean linens is a
fantastic way to fade into a wonderful night's sleep. You can keep
your linens clean and fresh scented by following these simple tips.
TIPS FOR STORING BED LINENS
Washing and drying your bed linens. Washing linens in the summer and
hanging them out to dry is a wonderful way to capture a fresh
outdoor scent. If you dry your linens in a clothes dryer, make sure
to take them out and fold them while they are still warm. This gives
you a smooth, wrinkle-free look. If the linens have cooled down
before you have a chance to fold them, toss them into the dryer for
a few minutes with a damp cloth to re-smooth them.
Find a cotton, linen or muslin garment bag in which to store your
linens. Avoid using synthetic materials that will hamper the
material's ability to breathe and emit acids that can result in the
yellowing of your linens. Place the folded linens in the garment
bag, and top them off with a scented sachet to keep them smelling
fresh and clean.
Designate a dark, cool storage area for storing your linens. Try not
to store them in a humid room, such as a bathroom, as the moisture
may cause mildew growth on the linens. Clearly label each garment
bag, outlining the contents for easy future access.
Keep an extra set or two on hand for guests to use. Providing guests
with clean, fresh-scented linens lets them feel comfortable and
welcome in your home.
Pleasant Dreams!
